Keep in mind, this guy is in his 70s and has decades of sins committed against humanity that he has to live with every day:

And this guy also has to deal with a lifetime of being a horrible person and is also even older and is also fat:

Also, Sotomayor has diabetes and is in her 70s

Just a friendly reminder as to why this matters, especially the Senate

Need her in the race bad for Dems to have a shot

It’s official now. Add in Texas as a legit possibility too if Talarico wins the Dem primary and Paxton wins the GOP primary

I think he’s talking about the maps I posted in OP which are predictions of where the competitive districts/states are in the House/Senate

They’re from the 270toWin website which I don’t really ever use for serious predictions, but I thought the graphics were clean and they were pretty safe predictions for this point. They were also from a December update, so I think they’ve changed since then

Idk how the republicans do well unless it’s truly rigged

Wish I could vote hope the GOP loses every seat

  • Gonna be a hot mess regardless tbh.

On the note of Supreme Court — I’ve seen some takes recently of people thinking that Thomas and Alito will retire in June if they think GOP will lose the Senate (this idea itself is extremely unlikely in my mind, since I don’t think Dems will ever have above a 40% of winning the Senate this year given what an uphill battle the map is — so they would be retiring early when it is FAR from a sure thing)

But I just wanna say that even if it was 80% chance the Dems won the Senate, there is no way I see Thomas retiring unless he gets a massive bribe, and even then unlikely. He has never given a flying f*** about ideology. He has only ever been in this s*** for selfish reasons of wanting money, power, and influence. He’s not giving the seat up until he dies imo. Idk about Alito tho

I’m not religious at all, and highly doubt I ever will be, but I absolutely love how Talarico is able to authentically use his personal beliefs without alienating people of other beliefs as justification for progressive policies

Texas primary is in 2ish weeks

I swear if the Dem side nominates Crockett (who is the definition of #ResistanceLib Dem Establishment and has 0 chance of winning the General Election in Texas) instead of Talerico (who could win the General and actually open up Texas as a competitive battleground for Dems for the next decade) I’m gonna lose my s***

A lot of optics come with this primary.

A black woman attempting to win Texas sounds impossible.
White dude who believes in god can try to reach across the isle for Texas, but he seems susceptible to falling in line with Republicans because of those morals.

I totally understand your hesitation if you haven’t looked into either candidate but two VERY important things to clear up about those two points:

    1) people will boil down Crockett not being electable to her being a black woman. It is not that at all. It’s the fact as I said that she is a Resistance Lib/Establishment Dem — she always fall in line with party establishment and her whole identity is “Orange Man Bad” type s*** that Hillary/Biden/Kamala did. It may work in easy states like California or New York, but in battleground or red states (like Texas) it is completely pointless. You need to make a case for what YOU are bringing to the table and for.

    2) I respect you as a poster so I don’t want you to take this the wrong way, but comping Talerico to Conservatives shows you have not done any research into who Talerico is. I suggest you watch that NYT interview video I posted above. I’m not saying like he would make true leftists truly satisfied, but it’s extremely clear that he has a strong ideological view towards left ideas on almost every issue. I think pinning someone as “bad” or “conservative” just because they are Christian is a wrong take — especially when he uses his faith to justify progressive ideology and oppose conservative ones

I'll check out his interview for sure. I haven't had time to check out past simple checklists of their policies
