The skits on this and 2001 make them impossible to listen too entirely in a lot of situations... these would make me feel uncomfortable around anybody.
Éven though they are goated obv

I see your point. I wasn't talking lyrically at all but, more so, in terms of the lore behind the albums.
Both albums, to me, become better when you understand the place in which they come from.
My opinion on the TLOP thing is lowkey that it’s a borderline made up concept to justify how uneven and inconsistent the album is and it allows the listener to kind of let go of the idea of cohesion and accept it as a more “conflicted” piece
Not to say it’s complete nonsense but kind of like you said, sometimes the way we look at art changes it for us and that concept of conflict is a way of looking at TLOP that makes it make some sense
Not even to nitpick your comparison because it’s valid. But the thing about MMLP in comparison is I feel like even just from listening, you can basically catch up to what’s happening because it’s there in the lyrics. That’s where lyrics come in, not in comparing their lyrical prowess but just the fact that em communicates so much more and so much more clearly and provides the context and framing basically in the music and doesn’t require as much squinting at it to get it imo

I feel you.
Solid discussion overall.
I'm Back one of the greatest flows I've ever heard
I murder a rhyme
One word at a time
You never
Heard a mind as perverted as mine

Pause 4 p***o will get you in trouble
wholesome
My important album in my life as it infected me as a child. I still walk around the house rapping every word to Kill You as the flow can be so mailable and fun
Kill You my favorite album intro ever s*** sets the tone off rip
Kill You and I'm Back are so hard
You're going to call me crazy for saying this and I won't blame you.
But, in a way, MMLP reminds me of TLOP's initial concept which was the internal struggle between the multiple "Pablos" and how they all co-exist in the life of Kanye West.
MMLP is sort of like that for me. It's an album that showcases the internal struggle between Marshall Mathers and Slim Shady and both albums talk about how fame and wealth have both been a curse and a blessing to their lives. And you have a mix of serious/introspective songs alongside gimmicky/edgy ones.
Isn't this like sorta almost any album by an artist, when they hit fame, that they become self therapists and start talking to the men in the mirror as if it's the Green Goblin talking in the mirror to Osborne?
The balance, identity, ur roots, the fame, the mania, your family, the who are u truly?
i prefer this album to the eminem show, ever so slightly
Em’s anniversary releases are always underwhelming af lol
F*** Paul bruh

Used to be that way for me but as years went on TES surpassed
Everybody and their grandma had MMLP. I've still never seen anything else blow up like this album.
