mixing is trash. no, it's not a classic but great album.
he just recorded this under a blanket lol
It's tied as his top 3 tbh
And my top 3 for Jay is Reasonable Doubt-Black Album-4:44
Any of these three could be his best depending on the day. You want the grimey east coast gangsta s***, RD is the go to. You can an album of slaps from the top down that just bangs in any setting, you got BA. You want that introspective, soulful side to Hov, 4:44 is the best in class tbh.
Might be his best tbh
my personal fav, it was my introduction to Hov fr

This and Black Album are my fav HOV projects
Classic album however I have never once heard it played outside so it is unfortunately in the dust/mysterious category in my library.
I need to run the album back but it’s far from my favorite Jay Z album. I didn’t really enjoy his rapping on this from what I remember. A lot of his verses sounded like word salad. Trying to fit in as many syllables within a verse as possible. Like his flow just never really felt seamless.
The Carters album is actually where I thought he rapped a lot better than on 4:44 despite that album being microwave food so to speak
