when i look at people who have done arguably the best performances of the super bowl it's people like Prince who for sure have lots of explicit music but they also had clean easily accessible and widely known/beloved hits to make a spectacle out of. the focus wasn't just on him but on the entire peformance which included the wider band/etc. the equivalent of Kendrick doing a Purple Rain-like moment at the super bowl is just like, what? people can't even sing along to most of his biggest songs because they'd be censored in the chorus which forces him to do medleys. medleys are great for concerts themselves but when they're being done to cover up for censorship that loses a lot of the art. i honestly think this was even an issue even with the dre superbowl show and a lot of the songs performed there like Lose Yourself have far more cultural capital amongst the largely white viewership of the show, it's a valid concern

Wayne is going to come out for A Milli and Kendrick is going to rap part of his verse off of C4

Then Wayne will do a quick medley of 6 Foot 7 Foot and maybe Uproar, then back to Kendrick.
