You are a piece of s*** if you don’t tip.

You're a piece of s*** if you don't pay your employees a decent wage

  • Oct 9, 2022

Some restaurants include it in the bill for certain situations but you aren't legally obligated

I too think restaurants should pay their workers wages where they don't need to be tipped tho

    That too.

But that’s not the system we live in.

So be nice and help when you can.

If there was no tipping restaurant owners would have to pay servers more meaning food prices would go up everywhere

They gotta make up the money some how. You think if US banned tipping and servers got paid more in salary they just gonna eat those costs?

    Legally no. Morally you’re a d*** if you don’t

  • Oct 9, 2022

Only time I really dread tipping is when I’m at the bar and I only order beers all night cause then all they really doing is opening the bottle for me but it is what it is I still tip

  • I got some tips for you

It’s not for them, it’s for the cooks making your food. The ones that are sweating and working tirelessly to serve your dumbass some food.

They should probably make it clear who the tips are going to. I have no issue with tipping people who are doing actual work

Nonetheless, suck my d*** from the back

Nah just the unsuccessful restaurants would have to shut down bc their wages aren't subsidized by the customer anymore

Not all of them. The good ones will get enough business to turn a profit and pay decent wages

Lbr in the end they definitely going to raise food prices to try to offset salary costs and once one starts doing it other places will do it too

They can, but it's not like the price will double. And the market can stabilize itself into a different landscape as long as workers are getting paid the same way any other worker would im ok with it.

I don't think we should be bailing out restaurant owners at the expense of the customer. No other industry works that way, why make an exception for the restaurant business? It really shouldn't even be called a "tip" at this point bc its not optional, it's like subcontracted work

I agree with that but from a business perspective if owners are forced to pay more to servers in salary they’re not gonna take it lying down

It’s like when cost of getting ingredients go up restaurants raise prices of their meals. Anytime an expense goes up they’re gonna try to make it up somewhere else

Or maybe they get rid of servers all together to save on costs

Let me tip the guy at the cash register for giving me my money correctly, and let me tip the cooks for making my food the way I like it. Lets tip the manager for knowing how to manage and lets tip the guy who opens the door for me.

    What is this, Goodfellas

  • Oct 10, 2022

ahh yes back to tipping threads
