babylon tailed off a little for me once the president was introduced
Exactly the same for me
Just saw Weathering with You, ngl Shinkai basically the Stephen King of anime movies: knows how to create a good story with some fantastic presentation but writes some mid endings
Had to go back to check because I don't remember this being a thing and I hope you're not talking about EP2 where Riko gets strung up as punishment, she doesn't even get spanked and the scene don't even last a full second ....
Nudity =/ Sexual, She like 12 years old and isn't aware that she supposed to cover herself, its clear cause she feels no shame whenever she takes her clothes off, all she concerned about is the abyss. When its not there to ease tension as a joke its just characterisation and reminder that this girl like 12 years old
theres literally no sexual tension between those two. Reg constantly uncomfortable with seeing Riko naked and the boy going through puberty. Scene was just there for humor and didn't even last long, if you seen that scene as sexual I think thats your issue bro
What about it?
It's probably not for fetish purposes and you are looking to deep into it.
Feel like a lot of your issues with the show boils down to what @Tranquility said above
I feel like it's really easy to see and you just don't really care, which is fine
I was genuienly trying to enjoy the anime, and I did, it's just that I'm not trying to see naked anime kids, and like I said it's not just the one time, so it killed my vibe
@AshTheRobot Every sexual hint in Made In Abyss adds nothing of value to the plot, it's only there because of fanservice

nah man he's a terrible writer

Honestly u not wrong. Just sucks cause I was loving it and then the movie just kinda makes the two kids causing most of Tokyo getting flooded and ruining lives out to be a good thing. When u see the girl praying I thought s\*\*\* was bout to get interesting but nah she stops, they hold hands and the movie ends
also i'm pretty sure the author of made in abyss is a lolicon as he's been known to post loli stuff on his social media and apparently he's published art books with that kind of thing.
i did like the anime however

I feel like it’s really easy to see if you immediately associate nudity with sexual fan service even with no context to guide you to believe it is.
Riko being naked is completely natural to her. Sure, you could probably remove most of the nudity but it being there does more for her character than it not being there

The writer decided that the child character wants to hang out naked
Not weird to you?

Yeah, I know? I feel like you consistently missing my point that nudity is not the same thing as sexual fan-service and that nudity is just completely natural to Riko's character

Well, we clearly don't share the same views on this

You don’t think you have to view it in context?

Context matters but where's the context in Made In Abyss? None of these kids should be sexualized and it has no significance to the plot.
The Promised Neverland never had any sexual jokes or hints in it, and it's an anime about slave kids being eaten by demons.
They could've easily made it into loli fan service and they didn't. It's not that hard.

I'm 80 chaps deep and I absolutely love it.
No plot holes, no tropes, no forced battles and no pointless power ups. It could've been a s***storm battle manga but instead the story gets more intriguing with every chapter I read.
any news on season 2?
as far as sexual implications in anime/manga go...I think it's a personal matter. If your brain is twisted everything will seem twisted. You just gotta take everything with a grain of salt

I don't know, the manga lost me personally after Goldy Pond, but the week I binge read it was really fun

I disagree.
The one instance of Riko get punished is only on screen for a quick sec, and it’s more so to make you feel as uncomfortable as Riko is in that moment.
The other instances add traits to Riko and Reg as characters, on how they relate to one another. Specifically that Riko doesn’t look at Reg as she would a regular human boy, so she’s more comfortable around him.
You don’t typically see fanservice in young characters like this being pushed by female creators, plus, I don’t think anyone is suppose to be getting a turn from these designs

you mean around chapter 65? there's still so much we don't know like Norman's and ratri's connection and why norman is so cherished by the demons...and in all honesty, Peter ratri is much more interesting as an antagonist than the demons and after his introduction, I was also curious about the connection between adam and Norman. I dunno bruh, the story is still evolving at that point imo, I couldn't have dropped it with so many interesting developments
Longest convo I ever seen occur in here

I'm caught up on it rn because of our conversation (didn't read it since October)
