the series is like if wes anderson and aaron sorkin decided to collab on an anime. the aesthetics and dialogue go crazy

it's funny you said no tropes or cliches tho cus the series actually goes ham with tropes but the way it does it is so smart that it's non stop jokes

i love hs animes cuz it makes me fond of my own days in HS; the carefree nature and teenage ignorance is something i like watching portrayed in anime. and ngl i like watching the usually-loser guy get with hot girls cuz it makes me nostalgic for what coulda been when i was in hs lol

LNs are fun, never read one before this. I’m enjoying reading Tomozaki. Didn’t like Aoi at first (too curt) but now that Tomo has seen actual results from her training I’m starting to like her

Toradora was always better than Golden Time to me it might be because I watched it first...

But the main couple from Golden Time is so unlikable to me... I hate them, and in Toradora I like the whole friend group and that makes all the difference, they actually develop the characters really nicely in Toradora

In Golden Time the friend group is okay but they don't really matter, all they ever talk about is the main couple, they don't ever get developed more than one dimensional characters, and when they do it's only for temporary drama

Ouran been on my Netflix watch list. Will get to it eventually. Adding lovely complex to my list as well gl

prolly won’t watch clannad tho cause I don’t like how the character faces are drawn. the art style? is a deal breaker for me. It’s kinda like the beat in rap music. If that s*** ain’t pleasing to me idc how good the raps/stories are
