To give a brief summary why I’m at this place in my life.

I always question things about my sexuality being so demonized and it lead me that showed me the Purity Culture movement and how it affected Men but moreso Women on a worst scale.

On top of learning the fact that Slavery was practiced a lot by Early Christianity.

I’m now reading the Bible from Agnostic lens as my own path to deconstruction, because I’m starting to see things from more of a logical standpoint than I was as a kid.

With that said, what was your story?

im more of a gnostic, I still believe in God and Jesus but also agree that the physical realm is evil/basically hell

My mother tried to bring me up in the church as a boy. For me, it’s just the fact that I’ve never seen, felt, or heard “god” anywhere. I’ve never seen the words of the bible or the preachings of pastors reflected in my personal life or in the greater world itself.

The past (and the present) is filled with the domination of evil, so I never really understood what exactly I was supposed to have faith in.

i was raised roman catholic. i practiced buddhism and taoism from 2012 until a few years ago. i'm still influenced by my upbringing and experiences.

I’m on the latter, but I’m moreso debating if I do.

Is it only the Christian God that you’re interested in?

I was raised Luke warm Christian, went atheist, agnostic then back to “Christian”
I say “Christian” since Christianity is the framework I approach to the idea of God and follow Jesuses teaching

I do certainly believe there is a creator of all things and Christianity is the path I choose to get closer

I struggled with faith as well. But realized that’s our only connection to God. When you think about the universe, take our sun which we can’t even look at with our bare eyes. There are suns out there that are billions and even trillions of times more powerful. Then you realize that God created those suns; really puts things in perspective. God does not need us, we need God.

I’m Muslim myself but I would suggest keep learning and asking questions about Christianity if that’s where your interest is, may you be guided along the way

Also, not like our leading scientists and people considered "top minds" today are infallible. Just look at RoundUp, had a whole believable scientific study planted by the company that lied about it being a carcinogen. Many people would consider Elon Musk a genius for his engineering knowledge
