have all these dudes just been compromised by “efficiency” and tech bros when it comes to making their art? and we the fans and listeners are going to be the victims of their need to keep getting paid hundreds of thousands to millions?

I know I’m using Diplo as an example and that will come with some negative observations already, but the point stands. that’s a top line, main stage performing act with influence in his scene at least stating this out loud.

I also say this because the owner of this website posted a music generating website. I checked it out and tried to see if it could recreate my beat. not only did it recreate it with entirely new sounds, but it kept the melody, extended the beat, and even added more instruments and elements and did not sound like AI made it, but like I did in my bedroom as when I put the beat side by side to my original, it just sounded like an original extension

With AI becoming a thing it’s obvious a lot of artists hearts aren’t really in it, and if they can create and sell a product faster they will 100% do it

EDM artists also use ghost producers hella often so yeah i wouldn't be surprised if DJ's capitalized on AI

they were already scamming their audience. festival edm was always gonna be the first to be completely taken over by ai and the audience will neither know or care. the music is secondary to the "experience" in that space

That's a separate issue, I think. People are listening to music from the before times. It's a rejection of that as well.

There is a lot of bad in it with some good, but the real "genius" of AI will be private personal side engines optimized for what you specifically need - not these throw everything at the wall all over the place public generators, and the big artists and at least labels/company's will def have their own thing that isn't public

Public generators are a product and a novelty, private and specialized generators are inevitable and happening

Dj sets are more artistic than you might think. There will be no ai beating out top tier mixes.

Ai mixes will get a lot more popular but AI isn't going to be making something top tier in this world
