just say that spices and seasonings enhance food whereas condiments complements food

They’re basically ignoring all reason and just siding with the dictionary definition 🤦🏻‍♂️

Nah I’m not taking that dictionary definition for condiments

They’re spices and seasonings which I don’t consider to be condiments

Condiments are ketchup and mayo and mustard and s*** like that

Never gave this question much thought before this thread, but yeah I agree with this

for a lot of people though they don’t consider seasonings as condiments so there technically isn’t a set definition.

    They are all condiments

The real question is whether or not cereal is a soup

If you put things that you put in a soup in milk or you put in cereal in soup, is it soup or cereal?

    Soup

Cereal is specifically the cereal+milk combo or the cereal itself

Notice how if anyone has ever replaced the milk with a diff liquid they specify that they had cereal with juice or cereal with water

Bc it’s no longer just cereal

almost like language isnt parallel to objective truth

  • May 5, 2020

Why is a pickle not a condiment, but relish is? Is it the spreadability of said condiments, that are the key factor?

  • May 5, 2020

    Yea

Had a white girl tell me cheese was a condiment

  • May 6, 2020

Condiment (and, to an extent, vegetable) is a vaguely define term. Whereas spice, herb, or fruit are more exactly defined terms...

They would just say that jam is a condiment. They also say that guac is a condiment. They say basically anything that goes on a sandwich/burger is a condiment

guac can def be a condiment. its jus fat with flavor

Then tell your bozo friends that that means ketchup isn’t a condiment bc technically tomatoes are fruit so it’s actually a jam

    Using tomato jam ever
