Omnipotent is a fairly credible leaker, he predicted several of aspects of Elden Ring as well as Sekiro. I'm inclined to believe this description.

“While the game may have elements that are in line with Souls games, that’s because those existed in the franchise before Souls did because they’re pillars of Fromsoft’s design language as a collective. But it’ll also have many elements that make it a radical departure from Souls games in it’s inherent design and structure as well as the overall and moment to moment gameplay loop that means it might not be to the taste of every Souls fan. Dont go into this thinking its even slightly influenced by souls. It'll be another entry to the armored core series, probably at its best, but still a mecha game at its heart. At best it'll feel lowkey like demons souls but thats because the latter is dark fantasy armored core in the first place

Honestly not sure if it's gonna be my type of thing but the world looks incredible, if it's gonna have anything from Souls it'll be a real sense of desolation

Miyazaki was working on armored core before the first souls game they made even existed lol, it's a series that has it's own identity going back 25 years

It'd be like saying souls games have armored core influence
