Are Sekiro and Dark Souls considered open world
their maps are still segmented and restricted in terms of how and when you can access certain areas so not sure if I would personally consider them to be open world.

DS1 is linear and is better than Elden Ring
I liked Elden Ring but it’s not a GOAT game to me. A lot of my complaints would directly tie into issues involving it being open world

I think there's a distinction between 'open world' and 'zero loading screen', because while the relatively linear progression of DS1 and Sekiro mean they're not truly open world, you can theoretically walk from one end of the map to the other, with very few breaks, e.g. the Anor Londo gargoyles, and I think that contributes to a more open feeling

after that playstation showcase, it looks like these games are just gonna make s*** worse by making devs think big open world = successful game just like in 2016 or whatever
for some reason devs forget open world maps kinda need to have a lot of fun content in them and being able to explore and interact with a large amount of things in the world

Big empty open world has been a problem since at least 2013 IMO. If anything I think games will take more influence from BOTW and ER and make more interesting open worlds. Ubisoft is capable of it because immortals Fenyx was a step in the right direction.

AC basic lore question:
Are the mechs like fully sentient? Or is there a small dude inside? Or is it being operated from an outside base?

They’re piloted by guys inside a cockpit. There are robot versions too though.

Question just made me think we aint never had an evangelion type game. Closest one prolly nier.
It looks so good I never played an armored core but just these 4 minutes I know this is my s***
Gameplay around customizing the mech. Fast paced but still not braindead button mash. Difficult and with a lock on mechanic. And the beautiful from soft art and level design
This looks excellent lmao
There's such a tangible sense of world, it's definitely got that From 'any view could be a wallpaper' thing going on
