the renaissance is super classic

"MM's" my go to Tribe record, but their first 3 are undeniable.

The first album is eh, I mean it’s almost fully produced by him and Dilla so it’s not terrible but kinda forgettable. His second album is great

I’m ngl he has some spotty moments on his albums but his solo career is brilliant imo
Blue Girl, Caring, You, Gettin Up, Things We Do are some of the best songs I’ve ever heard in my life
And you already know Vivrant Thing goes crazy

The Renaissance is great, gotta put that one in rotation. Thanks for reminding me
I prefer Midnight Marauders over Low End Theory
Same.
The debut isn't as good as LET, mainly because it's too long, certain parts drag (Ham 'n' Eggs does not need to be 5+ minutes), and specific details of their sound haven't crystallized yet (Phife is a greater presence on later records). Obviously it has classics and I do like the late night psychedelic vibe of it all.

I feel the opposite way tbh. I feel like a lot of tracks on LET are too short to leave a huge impact on me

Thank you
I’m surprised seeing so many people say its better than LET & MM itt , its a classic album in its own right but I feel like their sound got drastically better on the next 2 albums. They were legit rapping their ass off on MM compared to the first album
Midnight Marauders
The Low End Theory
We Got It From Here
Peoples Instinctive Paths
Beats Rhymes & Life
The Love Moment
Even the love movement is a dope ass album though
Its hella underrated these days. Used to get its flowers for having iconic singles like Can I Kick It and Left My Wallet in El Segundo (maybe more than necessary, and we’re overcorrecting ourselves now), but all the attention is on MM and LET in these times

And the best tribe single ever imo Bonita Applebum
I'll be honest and say I don't revisit it in full as much as Low End Theory, MM, We Got it From Here and BR&L but it's still foundational
Thank you
