Bunch of people walked out and missed the bonus tape.
Bonus was awesome, mix of lighting and tile survey amd reunion, damage control, and pitfalls
yo this is the worst f***ing movie ive ever seen in theatres. im not mad that it exists or anything but im in disbelief
solid and a very fun and well-made translation of this aesthetic into an HD film, it's almost more like a gimick short film you'd see as a ride in a park in this regard but still a very good one at that.
in terms of storytelling I was initially invested and thought setting it in this furniture store was very clever and the therapist angle interesting. it was a really good setup, which made it even more sad to see it fall flat on its face in the end
the endless looping around the furniture store and how the backrooms reflect Clark's psyche imo didn't rly gel w setting up all this lore about it being a whole universe and lore, it tries to be both of these things in the end and ends up with both being kind of unsatisfying...
the absolute low point of this being that dinner scene near the end before the pirate appears with rly jarring dialogue, lore and character turns, I was invested until then but that fully took me out.
Still maintain this is much better than Obsession

Why did you not like it lol

It would be a cool art installation to visit. A cool coffee table book to flip through. I'm sure the web series is more focused on those strengths.
As a feature length film about these "characters"? So incredibly thin. More trauma therapy horror. The absurd production is muted by that self serious pablum. The feints at dark comedy are scant and half hearted. It's all about as convincing as Renate Reinsve's American accent.
I can just imagine all of the writing bending over backwards to give this movie credit for subjects it only had the potential to explore. The only thing it really explores with any rigor is the cool sets they built. And they are wasted upon it.
I need to watch this. I think how much some hyped it up and said "HE IS 20" worked against the film. Happy for the box office success and to see what he does next though

Funny. I’d say parsons is like Kubrick compared to curry, who makes movies for sub 0 iq dimwits

He's definitely seen The Shining. So he's as close to Kubrick as I am. Whereas Barker is actually good at writing and directing movies
