I hope we see more of ichigo’s supposed full power in this adaptation s*** was rather underwhelming with the way Kubo handled it in the manga

He has one half assed flight showing that he’s way stronger than normal Stern’s but proceeds to get bopped in every fight after

Kubo was like a really bad wrestling promoter during the mid to late part of the arc. He really did NOT want to put any of the heroes over the villains

if they can fix Uryu and Ichigo's end game fights, they really worked a miracle. esp in 52 episodes.

Nah fr the pacing was f***ed too bc at one point it had been like a year or so irl since ichigo left the top area to join the battle

I remember Kenpachi and Mauyri legit had like 14 or 15 part fights that had me sick and tired reading week to week

All that for him to pretty much be a non factor at the end of the manga, saved by everyone else lmao

I also still hate the last 2 chapters or so, the set up was so rushed (I know why but I’m still disappointed)

You can tell that Kubo really wanted to make this beautiful payoff for so many characters

Shinji bankai, Kisuke bankai, Kenpachi finally is displayed in all his true glory, Unohana too, etc etc

and between his health and the apparently ever changing timelines, it just wasnt meant to be. There's so much that his fault with both the logical and pacing inconsistencies, but he gets so much right that the arc clearly had potential

but then gets the literal climax of the story wrong

I think the climax and the bad wrestling a***ogy you made leave the worst tastes in my mouth bc we do get the payoff to pretty much every other question which is nice.

Although I do still wonder why ichigo’s zanpaktou’s abilities have a hereditary connection to his dads’s. Similar name, same main power and both have the same ultimate ability. Especially if what ichigo thought was Zangetsus is not Zangetsu
