  • I totally get what you mean tho @op it felt like lots of these blog/swag era artist's SECOND album was the real debut lmfao. Drake and Wiz for example fell back to their mixtape sounds on ONIFC and TC (seriously bro these albums are just like the Hollywood versions of SFG and K&OJ/TA)

I'm disappointed that drake looks less favorably on Thank Me Later because he sees it as being his only album that was of its time and where he was at in his career. Feels like that album was him at his most genuine and probably my favorite album of his.

I used to not think it was a classic but lowkey it’s becoming one to me but moreso out of nostalgia

  • That said tho even tho I got plenty of love and nostalgia for this era (there's no shortage of f***ing classics on these albums bro. some of them even became classic albums) most of these artists tapes were hitting more than the albums that's just a fact

  • MOTM totally didn't fall into this trap tho ngl

Such a peaceful time. Everybody wasn't beefing, stans could acknowledge the talent of other artists. People were still finding their sounds. What happen to the game man

    Colonizers killed it

  • This takes me back to walking from my dorm to the cafeteria and eating lunch with this music playing on MTVU

  • this era really inspired creativity
