if you aren't playing to win...you are, definitionally, a loser.

singh was ok with propping up trudeau and suffered for it as he should've

You’re an idiot lol. Politics isn’t a sports game. Jagmeet and the NDP found themselves in a powerful position in a minority government and capitalized on it.

capitalized on it so hard that they lost official party status. masterful 8d gambit.

think that wasnt really their issue, you couldnt really tell who they were supporting and a lot of voters knew it was going to be con vs lib so they voted elsewhere, if there was a safe liberal win i think we'd see more ndp seats

let's not complain about "immigrants", shall we

im not, im against mass immigration.

People come to Canada and stay in Ontario, Montreal, or Vancouver. Unemployment rate for youths is 16% in Toronto, corporations want temporary foreign workers so they can suck them dry for lower wages and overtime hours and make them work like slaves. They’re getting screwed too with the cost of living crisis in Canada.

Instead of taking 300k people in one year, take 150k in year 1 and 2.

Literally nothing would change in your life if that happened. The economy wouldn't even improve because of that. Absolutely 0. You are just blaming immigrants for a problem they have nothing to do with.

again ur a fking ret@rd, bringing in too many people when there is clearly a doctor/nurses shortage doesnt affect the hospitals?

You want 10 people cramming up in houses, renting a portion of a room? Some of these intl student women are doing s***work to make ends meet. but ur a f***ing useless mfer so u want more of this

look at the idiots liking ur posts

Noticed you said nothing about the 16% of unemployment rate and how canadian kids are more likely to do crime cause they cant find jobs while businesses exploit these temporary foreign workers

I now realize what being too “woke” is, holy f*** u people are idiots

right but all these things are due to the capitalist system, it has nothing to do with the amount of migrants the country lets in.

Immigration is a problem in Canada, this isn't even a left vs right thing its a pretty widely accepted problem on both sides of the aisle.

Yes we have problems with hospitals, housing, etc immigrants or not. That doesn't negate the fact that more demand on a system hurts it. Even if we put that aside, we had huge issues with immigrants being scammed by companies abusing our policies (this hurts the immigrants not me), foreign investment into speculative housing purchases reducing supply for people who live here (immigrants or not), foreign influence in political campaigns and elections, etc.

This isn't a "all immigrants are bad" post. I know Canada is a better place for having immigrants and I appreciate the diversity I've gotten to experience living in Ontario and in Toronto.

Don't even take it from me (a white guy who was born and raised here). Take it from the immigrants who have come here, and said its so s*** because of the over population, that I'm going back to india/china/etc.

What do you mean we can’t pump 1m humans into the country every year!

It’s a giant pyramid scheme, need to keep pensions funded.

I might be speaking for myself here but I don’t think anyone disagrees that too much demand on the system hurts it. Thing is, you could take deport all immigrants tomorrow and you would still be left with a system that needs various reforms and investment to function optimally (not to mention the loss of workers would be catastrophic). Much has been written for years prior about how underfunded our public services have been and how housing being treated as a commodity would eventually lead to the current state of affairs.

While the increased numbers put an unnecessary strain on the system, immigrants themselves are not the problem.

    I agree 100%

I didn’t read the whole thread but there is a difference between “immigrants are the problem” and “slowing immigration down could give us time to focus on improving these systems”.

I believe in the second point and I think a lot of Canadians do. But you have to be careful because if you say that people equate you to saying all immigrants are bad.
