coronaviruses mutate far too rapidly to be eliminated. that is why the most common coronavirus (aka the common cold) is still with us despite efforts to eradicate it since the 50s

it does make sense because scientific data is based on widespread studies and not personal anecdotes
99% of the people that die or are hospitalized from covid are unvaccinated. there's going to be outliers yes but theres enough evidence to make the conclusion that overall the vaccine prevents serious illness or deaths
