classic
It's gotten better reception over the years but yeah everyone not in high school or college at the time of release torched TF out of it and call it (+ Rebirth) the start of Wayne's downfall
I always really liked it
Carter 4 is perhaps the biggest example of a generational divide in Rap tbh
i remember having 6'7, Blunt Blowin, John, She Will,It's Good, So Special, President Carter, Novacane, MegaMan on REPEAT

Itβs a good album but it is not nearly as good as 2 and 3.

Agreed
I don't think anyone would say that, but the hate from hip-hop media and "old heads" was overblown imo
I think it's a symptom of this is you "at your worst" SO FAR, little did they know what was to come, and to me that worst of him at the time wasnt even egregious or that crazy - yet

Yeah s*** has a lot of great tracks
I donβt remember seeing slander for Wayne other than basic ppl who would s*** on Wayne anyways during that time

at most, what i heard was just i had friends who were like " This isn't C3, so it sucks"

IANAHB2 was the real beginning of the end for me.

Yup, I think it was for everyone. It has like 2 or 3 cool to good tracks and that's it, and I think it made hip-hop media and older fans look at C4 even worst since human being 2 came out so quick after it
I like a good amount of FWA - Pick Up Your Heart OG is the last Wayne song that really-really felt like real classic solo n prime Wayne to me that I still bump to this day, but yeah it's been downhill - his mixtapes even started to take some hits although still mostly good overall
And at least C5 also had a few good tracks too, but C6 really just tanked everything π π
the last good 1

if he picked current beats he would be fine
if he picked current beats he would be fine
Yeah C6 cut down to like 10 tracks along with a reordering of the tracklist would be decent with some good
But most of c6 just with better beats would be good - he's still really rapping on most of it, better than he has a minute solo wise
Just keep the features to the chorus tho
If Carter 6 was just these songs with a similar reordered tracklist it would be decent to good imo:
1. King Carter (Intro)
2. Welcome to the Carter
3. Written History
4. HipHop
5. Bells
6. Cotton Candy
7. Banned From NO (make Remix Version as the regular version)
8. In the Studio With My Gun
9. Sharks (even tho it's mid, have it be the radio single to be pushed)
10. Maria
11. Momma Don't Worry
12. Being Myself (Outro)
Unfortunately tho that isn't reality, and C6 produced probably the bottom 3 Wayne songs in his whole discog with Mula Kommin In, Island Holiday and Peanuts 2 N Elephant that hurt it so bad. How does one project produce 3 songs in competition to being your bottom 5 of all time in your entire discog?? Damn man.

I got to be real No Ceilings 2 might be the worst music project I have ever listened to in my life no exaggeration. I remember HATING that mixtape when it dropped. It was so bad.

Oh s*** i forgot all about that project LMAO
I don't remember the music (which is probably a good indicator of the assness π), but that and one or two of the later Dedications I now remember making niggas really just give up hope
