double western bacon combo with fries and dr pepper
they really ruined all their food for no reason. fries taste ass now. chicken taste too sweet. cups flimsy as hell. all time falloff
As far as the chicken goes, I think it may have changed like 8-12 months ago when they had signs at their drive thru windows saying that they were changing their "no preservatives, hormones, GMOs, etc" policy or something.
CFA still top tier for me and i honestly cant really tell any difference in taste, but I know a lot of other long time fans have said something about it changing so I believe them.
The real problem IMO is that it seems like over the past decade, especially the past 3-4 years, CFA has really slacked on enforcing their service & food standards with new franchisees — particularly outside of the Southeast states.
I lived in the South (GA) for 27 years, and then I moved Boston for a bit before settling in the Midwest. Boston was the first time I can ever remember in my life going to Chick Fil A and getting my order screwed up — like mid-2000s Taco Bell at 2am screwed up. It was so unexpected that it's like a core memory for me lol. That was common for me in Boston to the point where I just stopped going for the short time I lived there. (It was also the first time I said "Thank you" and the employee didn't say "My pleasure" lol, but that's just Boston culture I'm sure.)
Now I've been in the Midwest for several years, and I will only go to a few specific locations because they are just like the ones back home in GA — they are run very well, never screw up orders, clean, etc... The 3 closest locations to my house I avoid like the plague because they screw up my order every single time. One of them just opened last year, and even like 8 months into operation I went there for breakfast and the biscuits were doughy and the chicken looked undercooked so i threw it out.
TL;DR - there are still some great locations that live up to their classic reputation, but outside of the the South they seem to be getting worse cause corporate isn't stepping in to re-train like they used to.
