That’s fine for you, but you can’t really judge artists accurately then. Your opinion can’t hold weight in a debate.
That’s the only type of fan that prefers pusha, these weird album obsessed people. And I’m a full project listener too. But I also have my own compilations of Wayne music. Ignoring Wayne’s incredible output because you’re looking at things through a lens that is hyper focused on albums, (along with likely a rockist ideal of what an album should be) is just wrong and stupid.
Your bias says more about you as a listener than it does about Wayne or pusha. And that’s true of basically the whole wave of modern Wayne haters.
You're only using this argument because wayne just doesn't have albums like that, C2 is like the only consistent album that this dude has ever released.
The fact is that wayne just has infinitely more dog s*** out there than most rappers in this conversation.
Take C6 for example, there is no f***ing way that any other legend would drop something that disgraceful. Even that eminem album is way better than that s***.
Wayne got songs and dude has countless great features throughout his career, but his albums for the most part have always been inconsistent or just straight up bad.
2022; announced C6 at OVO Fest, a yearly show with strong media coverage
2023; dropped two singles with standard promo run (Kant Nobody & Kat Food). Both flopped so he pivoted and put them on a mixtape to promote Carter 6 ("Tha Fix Before Tha VI") - but unfortunately that flopped too.
Did interview in Jan 2025 guaranteeing C6 would drop in 2025
Had a Cetaphil commercial during SuperBowl (large viewership) announcing release date. Commercial was played in Louisiana area.
Opened album pre order 1-2 months in advance in order to ship physicals on day of release (Clipse did same) - just not many fans (relatively) bought
Did interview discussing songs on album and features to build hype
Did a DJ Mix with Mannie Fresh few days before release giving fans some unheard music from over the years, again to build hype
Had the song "The Days" premired during NBA Finals hours before album release
Performed at MSG (iconic hiphop Venue) to celebrste the album release
"nO PrOmO"
You guys can be happy for Clipse without the crazy Wayne disrespect going on in here
This place is literally just /r/hiphopheads now
Aside from that tour that literally promoted the Carter 6 and the preorders and the commercials all over my YouTube feed and tiktok and vinyl release
its sad man the album just sucked ass
112k for a rap group's (both niggas in their 40s and 50s) first album in 15 years.
I'm usually never acknowledging sales threads...but this actually says a lot about the landscape, what the audiences are looking for.
Like @Water_Giver said, there's younger "more popping" rappers that aren't selling this much 1st week.
fr
My ears will never recover
the album is so bad that wayne decided to only put 9 tracks on the cd
So he was supposed to work with the mediocre producers?
That’s not the point at all, guess you don’t know what being carried means
Jay Z worked with the same producers but was never carried by them, he could always stand on his own
Heart pt 6 is better rapping than push has ever did. If Jadakiss had Kanye /pharrell beats pusha T and Malice would be working at McDonald’s inside a church.
Drake of all people would know this is a lie. Push didn't annihilate bro with production on TSOA.

The Jay Z beat was actually a huge part of what happened.
wayne had 0 promo and probably no budget either
Only Wayne talking about it for years before it dropped 😂
A smaller, more dedicated fan base will outsell a wide market of casual listeners. I bet more people were more generally aware of the Wayne album but it didn’t resonate with too many people. It was just a random collection of songs. Clipse made an album that was authentically them and resonated with their fan base.
This man really gonna disregard History, Invincible, and Off the Wall
Documented that he’s one of those prince fans that think because they prince fans they gotta s*** on MJ instead of just…acknowledging both of their greatness
How often you running Ben back bro
My son really brought up an album @Sk8brdKee didnt even say holy guacamole what a goalpost move
Clipse as a group does not compare to Lil Wayne if we’re talking discography or influence. Not sure why this s***ty thread needed to be made
My son really brought up an album @Sk8brdKee didnt even say holy guacamole what a goalpost move
Some s*** just don't need a response.
The jokes write themselves
Niggas act like you can’t critique Wayne objectively lmao Nobody said he wasn’t a legend. But his album discography in comparison to some of the other greats ain’t exactly up there. On the flip side it’s only a handful of rappers that could rival Wayne’s hot streak as the top rapper and his influence and impact is bar none.
The Clipse album is just better.. and happened to sell more.
