Deadass whenever I see other Black people complaining about the club scene in NYC "being dead" it's always a dead giveaway that they moved to NY from the South or out West. It's most definitely a cultural barrier keeping y'all from going out to certain boroughs and neighborhoods. It's the same s*** from the white transplants who move here.
Y'all don't like hanging out with Afro-Latinos, Africans, and Afro-Caribbeans because what do you mean "clubbing in NY is dead"?
It's partially because of capitalism, but equally it's caused by the rise of satanism in modern club scenes. It was easier to want to go out and dance in a public setting like that when you didn't have to be worried about being approached by diabolists. Even people who aren't worried about becoming a blood sacrifice for the satanic cabal don't want to be associated with that stuff.
Lmaoo nah idk if this satire but I went to a secret ass after hours one night and some hoe was talkin bout some satan shi
What clubs have you been too...
They getting “too cool” at these caribbean parties in nyc now
Had to squeeze capitalism in there
Capitalism for sure takin over the club, well the poppin ones atleast but if you got it, f*** it
Like OP lives in NYC (moved there from ATL) how are you having these issues finding good clubs lmao
Go out deeper in Brooklyn. Go to the Bronx or Upper Manhattan. It's spots everywhere
Me literally bringing up bb kings should have pointed out i too am familiar nigga lol
I am saying bottle service and vip sections and the likes makes it where folks (at those parties too) wanna look cool lol
Like I'm in my 30s so I don't really care much to be at the club cause I've personally grown out of it. Only reason I'm rediscovering it is because my girl loves to go to fetes so I tag a long.
It's soooo many spots lol free yourselves from the clutches of Bushwick, Bedstuy, Williamsburg, NoHo and SoHo, Prospect Heights, and the Lower East Side.

No...it really doesn't point out anything lmao

It’s locals saying this too btw.
Wouldn’t have made thread if this was just an op opinion lmao.
And I love caribbean and dembow/perreo parties. But no, I dont wanna always hear amapiano when I’m out every weekend night nigga lmao.

Used to stay in crown heights when I lived in Ocean Hill.
I’m saying (and clearly i’m not the only one) this a general observation.
Yea had this realization when I went out a few weeks ago. I'm straight edge so that probably plays a big role in it, but I was hella bored and just left early and was reminded why I dont really go clubbing
But then went to an afrobeats function a week after and had an amazing time

And it's locals calling those people dorks who don't go outside as well...but you ain't gonna bring them up because it doesn't fit your already limited perspective lmao
Y’all keep talkin about Gen Z but they still out at the club and shii, think yall just need to go outside
Should know not to discuss the club on dorktt
And it's locals calling those people dorks who don't go outside as well...but you ain't gonna bring them up because it doesn't fit your already limited perspective lmao
Nah, I just know an entire state aint monolithic lol.
Clearly we differ in opinions. That’s fine.
Get these transplants the f*** out my city man I'm tired.
I agree lmao.
The ones that cause good black owned clubs or just good clubs in general to close down and get replaced with sterile replacements in their place.
You mentioned williamsburg like the only reason I ever partied over there was cause of Kinfolk and Output (RIP to both of them)
we dont have to go out when we can just watch clavicuar clubbing streams
Gen Z doesn't even overdose in clubs anymore. Sad!
I agree lmao.

Nigga you can go to tf
Nigga you can go to tf
Politics aside what I’m saying was a general observation. I Never said “there’s nowhere to turn up” in op at all. Shonen pump fete one of my fav events i went to last year.
I friggin went to a rave at bronx brewery months ago lol.
Clearly I’m still going out, but it’s just an observation noticing changes from frigging 2018 that is all. Not trying to indict/shit on new york city as a whole

idk what moving from the south has to do with your last sentence when the south full of Hispanics and Africans lmao

It’s also confusing cause up til last year I used to go to parkway parade/jouvert regularly lmao.
Been like that for years
Bring back block parties and BYOB venues
These still exist...
clubbing is dead and a waste of time
gen z (the ones that were in hs during covid) are lame
girls are terrible
dudes are weirdos
the music doesnt hit
big cities havent transitioned
sections ruined things
waste of money
alcohol isnt actually expensive like that its just not worth it.
chill bars or just hanging with friends>>>
