Yes, bc I have never encountered anything like this. How often do you encounter a company that has you changing falsified documents and meeting with people, while working closely with the government. At the end of the day I was trained this way. I just thought it was something to share, it’s simple but insane how new grads can be seen as green or desperate.

OP being aware that he's involved in fraudulent activity involving public funding and not doing anything to prevent it probably means that he's implicated and is not good (if this is true, which I highly doubt)

I’m going to delete the thread soon but I just need some advice on if it’s worth staying here or quitting that’s all. Like they treat me awesome, but they have shady ways and deliberately leave out information.

  • Jan 18, 2025

In case of an investigation by any federal entity or similar, I do not have any involvement with this thread or with the users in it, I do not know how I am here, probably added by a third party, I do not support any actions by the users in this thread. Every post I have ever made on this IP is satire. I do not condone nor support any of the opinions expressed in this thread.

The issue is I have been behind in my credit cards, bills, and even my insurance. I have submitted so many applications without a single response everything is so competitive nowadays. No matter how many times I change my resume, zero response. So eventually I asked a friend a got into this position, I’m not going to quit bc I need the money. But I am going to try and navigate through this the legal way? And maybe ask the hr person what to do? Idk I just can’t quit, too many bills.

Universities around me have free law clinics where indigent people can get free advice/legal assistance. If you got something similar around you, I'd suggest popping in and asking if you're good. If not, then leave. But either way, start looking around for something else

  • Jan 18, 2025

Even if you leave though and it comes under investigation, you may still be in trouble if the police find out you're the one who drew up the invoices. And if you leave, your co-workers may just make you the fall guy and blame everything on you

    So yeah, your f***ed.

Thank you, I’m going to view my universities resources and see what they offer for legal advice. I had completely forgot that universities offer free counseling to students/alumni.

Btw I’ve been back on indeed for the past week so hopefully something comes through. I’ve been applying to every place possible even department stores like Target and Walmart, I just need something right now.

The situation is crazy because the person who hired me is a sweet older woman, which is why everything came at a shock. You’d never think she had any knowledge of fraud at all, like her personality is so bubbly and encouraging, it’s hard to believe.

Theoretically speaking, wouldn’t they need like a reasonable cause to follow through? Like a user said in the first page this could be a “fake story” or LARP.

I appreciate that and im very thankful. I’m going to delete the thread soon I was just trying to see what yall say. I wasn’t expecting anyone to admit to fraud or conspire, but I needed advice since none of my family have encountered something like this before.

Damn and see that’s what I’m afraid of happening. I don’t want to jeopardize my degree, because there’s so much money in this field/profession it’s crazy.

I know that’s why I want to keep going, but the issue is my timesheets aren’t accurate. They have me adding hours I didn’t work, so if anything did happen they’d through me under the bus.

This sounds fishy af to me man

    I would def get out

Worst come to worst, snitch. As a matter of fact, snitch before it gets bad. This isn't some street s***, it's white collar, there's no shame in it. The owner definitely deserves it.

The owner has to be making $20-30k every two weeks or close to it, like no wonder he’s so friendly, bc he’s making all that money and has the newer hires doing all this illegal s***. I just want to get out before I come in any contact with law enforcement or any other government officials.

Exactly. I’ll maybe work 4-5 some days and they’ll have me put that in as 11-13hrs. The payroll lady has to know about it too, it’s one big circle of fraud.

That’s makes alot of sense, it’d be my word against there’s (plus the fake proof). I’m going just look for another job in the meantime.

My only issue is I need money like right now, I’m going to try and keep working for maybe the next month? Just so I can have something in my account. I know it’s stupid but i need something to live. Of course the only issue is if they try to pin anything on me I’d have no defense. I have no idea what to do about my bills.
