Ngl...I've been on the "like the music, dislike the person" wave with Kanye for a looong time. Like way before the 2022 meltdown.

I still rock with his music(barring D2, V2, JIK) but Kanye has been a mentally unstable jerk in my eyes for many years.

I have no issues saying that he's one of my favorite hip hop artists ever but the issue is that people will often conflate you f***ing with his musical legacy with f***ing with him as a person and so it's easier to not ID as a fan for that very reason.

It's easier to just quietly f*** with his good albums and songs because I don't want people to think that I cosign any of the batshit crazy s*** he says or does.

Funnily enough, I remember "Slow Jamz" played at a party I was in 8 months ago and b****es were rapping along to Ye's verse and getting hype.
