Is moreso due to perpetrating a dangerous stigma surrounding HIV/AIDs victims "dying in 2-3 weeks" and that scope of ignorance and promoting of such rhetoric has a LONG history and significance in not just pop culture, but aspects of our society as well. Notice how all the really big names going after him main priority was dismantling the things he said as it relates to those illnesses.

Lil Nas X caught crazy heat and backlash and is not the prince of the gay agenda and a danger to children from the conservative circuit including, Hip Hop culture, Fox News and others right-wing news groups etc.. the backlash even caused Nike to take cave and recall all of his shoes.

nah.. his singles are genuinely connected with the market. A month after that Montero, his song was still #1 on global streaming charts and it recently peaked at #1 on pop radio 3 months after it was released.. There's no music video that extends leg life to songs like that. He's creating smash hits on a global scale.. gimmicks aside. They ain falling off the face of the earth ala 69.
