    "What was it like, playing on the D’Angelo album?
    The new music is heavier and has more guitar on it. A lot of the stuff I did is on different versions of the album. I did a solo on “Ain’t That Easy,” “The Charade,” “The Prayer,” and lots of rhythm parts."
    so there are versions of these songs with jesse's playing

    So apparently, according to D’s longtime bm, The label took Black Messiah from him and released it prematurely … (pulling a TDE vis a vis SZA before the event even happened). I wonder what production decisions would’ve been different if D had been able to tinker with the songs till he saw fit (given he didn’t keep procrastinating as Toni said he was). It’d be nice if alt versions were included in a commemorative re-release of the record.

    okayy music revieww ✨🤏 im the worst to hit this w cus ive yet to listen to a d'angelo album in full -- but indeed a great song and def says something that it can hold a 10 min+ groove being performed live. hopefully/maybe questlove n co will discover a higher quality of this session eventually. Thank You for sharing
