Did y’all know, Trinidad James found this beat on a DatPiff instrumental tape. Only had about 200 listens on it, but he found it, recorded ‘All Gold Everything’ and it blew up.

Shortly after, my phone started blowing up back to back to back from a New York number. On about the 6th call, I finally answered. It was P Diddy. Diddy was desperately trying to locate the kid who made it, to sign him, so he could own the rights to the song. This was Diddy’s hustle, he hadn’t had luck in recent years signing artists, so he started signing producers of unregistered / uncleared beats of songs that were starting to take off…

Anyway, I tried to help, but the producer was UNREACHABLE. I tried to email him, called the phone number i had, I even went so far as to find his girl on Facebook, and dm HER. Still, no reply. If I recall, the kid was working construction in Mississippi and knew nothing about the music industry. He ended up going on a local radio show, telling the radio audience what was going on, and that he nedeed help.

A lawyer / family friend finally reached out to him, and helped him register it, and lock in the rights. Not sure what happened since then, or where the producer is at now. Just wanted to share a quick story about that record and what went on behind the scenes.. #allgoldeverything
