That’s literally like watching a movie for an hour and a half and then cutting it off at the last 30 minutes and saying “what a waste of time, the movie didn’t go anywhere.” And then when someone says “well you had to see the ending, it makes everything make sense” and you respond “LOL WHAT??? edit: Also, you can skip most of the walking side missions and complete the whole game in 30 hours easily. If you want to make it 60 hours because you enjoy the walking side missions you CAN but that’s optional.

I’m not trying to change your viewpoint, I’m explaining how stupid it is to form a viewpoint about a story game when you didn’t complete the story and you’re harping over one of the first gameplay elements that becomes easier and different throughout the game but is challenging for the first few chapters.

there are some weird decisions and i think that is bc they just let kojima loose and he did everything he wanted

the tone is all over the place

compare this to something like rdr2 where its awy better but its an unfair comparison bc rockstar is a way bigger studio
even tho rdr2 also had trash controls

this game gets better the longer i play it the gradual progression is pretty engaging game is definitely not for everyone though and i can understand the criticism but as someone who appreciates immersion and games with a bit more depth like RDR2

Yeah the deepest thing about rdr2 was the soundtrack, other than that it was basically 4k rdr1 with a slightly different story. a great game but overrated critically, like call of duty and assassins creed tbh.

to be fair though sequels are always hard and the original was a classic.

I've never seen so many people so persistent to insist a video game is bad or "terrible" when it's clearly not. The game's mechanics, story, and gameplay may not be for everyone, but it's definitely playable and well put together rather than lots of terrible or unfinished games on the market.

People who love it are getting tired of the discourse from those that don't. Instead of being like "I like it because yadda yadda" and "I hate it because yadda yadda," the discourse is more like:

"I really dig it because yadda yadda" "You're a f***ing idiot for loving it and you worship the ground Kojima walks on."

I’ve never seen a reaction to game to split down the middle like this in a very long time lol. Plenty of games over the years that got shat on collectively by the community, but never so 50/50 like this.

Like I said, haven’t touched it yet, so I’m just going to play it as I was playing anything else: No expectations. I have a couple other games I need to wrap up first before I get to this though
