I actually made this thread to ask a question. Has anybody encountered an official release that is blocked for sale on Discogs before? I am going through my grandparents' CD collection and found this Slim Dusty CD, an official EMI release, which cannot be sold on the Marketplace.

This release is blocked from sale on Discogs. It is not permitted to sell this item in our Marketplace.
I am aware of Discogs blocking the sale of bootleg items for copyright reasons, and also blocking items that contain hateful content (e.g. all those Nazi metal bands). They mention this in their FAQ section:
support.discogs.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402686008589-Why-Are-Some-Items-Blocked-In-The-Discogs-Marketplace
But I've never seen this restriction applied to a real, normal album before. What gives?
This is the valid listing for that album

some companies do represses that theyre not authorized to do even if they do look legit, sometimes they block those as well. i saw that just recently with a record i forgo the name of

That's the master page for all the different formats, no?
The CD I have is included there.
Interestingly, none of the LP/Cassette versions are blocked from being sold.
I am 99% sure the CD version is not a bootleg. The cover and disc printing is high quality, the EMI catalogue number is unique, and the IFPI code on the disc (2661) matches an EMI-owned CD manufacturer in Australia.

I think I've figured it out.
The listing was created 9 years ago by user 'filoman58'. They entered the label as EMI (2), which is a placeholder record used for bootleg releases pretending to be EMI.
Because of this, the CD was automatically blocked from being sold on Discogs Marketplace.
Then, 8 years ago, user 'seehaas' altered the label field to the real EMI, reclassifying the record from a bootleg to an official release. For whatever reason, this did not automatically unblock the item from the marketplace.
I agree with the seehaas guy, I am guessing that filoman58 marked the CD as a bootleg by mistake and meant to choose the real EMI. But since it's such an obscure release, you're not going to get 100% concrete proof either way.
Word of advice to anybody who comes across this thread while Googling why their seemingly genuine CDs are blocked from sale on Discogs: check the history, it might have been erroneously listed as a bootleg in the past. Only mentioning this because none of the Reddit/Discogs forum threads I found pointed out this possibility. You can probably get this fixed by talking to the mods, but I myself am not bothering for some slop country album that I have no intention of selling.
Have bought Voices, O. V. Wright, Prince, Lloyd Price, and Lee Morgan's albums off there.
since there's no CD thread i'll post in here
