All I’m saying is that it’s easier to creative a green screen backdrop for everything than it is still actually design sets and use creative cinematography to achieve the same outcome. CGI itself is not easy, but that’s not my point

But why would they limit themselves when CGI these days is so f***ing good. You get so much freedom with CGI which you can't get when shooting IRL.

Acting like the MCU takes "bare minimum" creativity with the way the movies look because they use CGI and green screen is a dumb statement.

That's definitely true. Has nothing do with creativity.

I also dislike the way they use too much CGI at times but it's mostly because they focus more on the content than the CGI.

They do so many test screening and use all the feedback from those and try to change stuff very late into production.

That's why you get bad CGI like the end of Black Panther or the cliff scene in Ragnarok..

But there are also things which are fully CGI because of the tight schedule and no one even notices, like all the Quantum Realm suits in Endgame which are fully CGI.

I don't think this issue is as black and white as it may seem.

That’s not the only reason for me saying their creativity is low though. We could talk about their cookie cutter formula or their washed out monotonous color filters that show up in every film. I enjoy MCU and am looking forward to this film but I wish they’d let the directors breathe more (creatively) and venture outside of the marvel formula. Almost like what DC is trying to do with their films except actually executed well

We haven’t seen too much of the post-endgame MCU so maybe they will go in this direction
Sam Raimi is a great sign and I really hope it looks like a Sam raimi film is all

I'm glad they're slowly changing though. I feel like after Endgame they've realized they got the audience no matter what they do. Things like Eternals and Strange are gonna be very special.

WandaVision (even though the ending was more like the Marvel formula) was very different too. The first two episodes were so different, that's why those episodes were disliked by many many people. They can do creative things but they can't do too much IMO. The fanbase is just too huge to do things which are too crazy. It's also about money at the end of the day.
