I remember there was a trend where Haitians would claim every other Black celebrity was part Haitian.
Copying Nigerians. Niggas use to swear on they grandma Nicki was Nigerian
The nigga probably don’t even like the fact he black you think he want to get specific?
Tyler actually did mention his nigerian background on the song "jumping in bordeaux remix":
"my style shakespearean,
my background nigerian"
should the original producer of the lumberjack sample get a production credit on the song?
cuz ive never seen harry fraud, the alchemist, kanye, etc. give production credits to the sample they used
for example college dropout credits on spotify show every song as "produced by Kanye" with no credit to any samples even if its super prominent
They’re completely different scenarios
The instances you’re talking about is actual sampling
The Lumberjack beat isn’t really “sampling” in that sense, it just uses the beat from a Gravediggaz song. RZA and Prince Paul should be the producers but I don’t think they’re even given the writers credit that Kanye samples would get.
And another big part of it is the “produced written arranged by”. Tyler can say he produced and maybe even arranged it but “written” would imply no samples
All the samples are credited
It’s not even samples tho, Tyler didn’t produce Lumberjack, RZA and Prince Paul did
This is true i dont think africans even consider themselves black
Why would they when "Black" was stamped on us in the New World?
Many Europeans don't consider themselves "White" either because that's also a New World concept and Koreans and Japanese don't even see each other as the same.
Ya'll gotta remember there's a whole world out there outside of the U.S. That said, Africans in America consider themselves "Black" and are categorized as such.

We're distant relatives.

I have plenty of afrucan migrant friends, the whole “they’re racist don’t see themselves as black” is probably true for like .1 percent of the population. There’s no logical reason why they wouldn’t get along the average American sees us all the same

I can tell you most africans in Africa consider themselves ‘black’ to a extent
They were also colonized by White Europeans
Ur point is about it them not defining them is true tho

Lmaoooooooooooo come on man
The nigga probably don’t even like the fact he black you think he want to get specific?
Tyler wishes he was a white boy.
Would be cool to see him sample (or how KTT sees it "steal") some Fela Kuti tracks for his next album.
tyler doesn't even make his own loop it's an insult to hip hop to call it sampling. Also rent free lol
I just found out his dad is Igbo
Curious to know why he doesnt talk about this more
I also dont really follow him so maybe he does and im ignorant
Interested in it tho
Same reason you don't see Doja Cat mention her South African background
You can spin a wheel of random ktt threads and you’re guaranteed to find niggas arguing about not knowing how sampling works
Also Tyler is going to rap about his life, his experiences, and his culture. That’s the beauty of his musical expression.
There’s close to no reason why he would do that about his dad’s. That wouldn’t make any sense.

@op Did u not hear his first 3 albums
He don’t know that nigga
