I don’t doubt that they have built up animosity towards each other but I think a lot of people are taking the lyrics too literally. Like throughout beef history you can’t take everting you hear at face value I’m of the opinion that they had issues but also Kendrick and Drake recognized they had to throw everything at the wall to ensure they’d have a leg up since there was only going to be one real shot at this for both of them to get the head to head W

Drake never had a shot, I called that 3 weeks ago, huge drake fan knew he was never gonna win court of public opinion.

brother nas calling jay gay isn't even close to calling drake a pedo or a calling kenny an abuser.

I don’t think you’re wrong it definitely jumped the shark. If we’re going off the inside info that they talked some sort of ground rules (not saying it’s true) and Drake did indeed cross that line then I mean there’s your catalyst

Also "we" hip hop def wasted 50 years arguing about authenticity who's pen is it???????? but then when i call you out and you call me out it's just lies....hip hop needs to grow up.

I think you and I agree on this. Ultimately this was unnecessary and has me looking at both of them a bit differently, but what’s done is done at this point. Just due to the fact of there not being the prototypical rap star at least in the next gen of rappers, hopefully this is one of the last that gets this ugly

i think it is true and my understanding is kenny asked no fam and drake said no to that, as he should why do you get special rules? this is exactly what I (Kenny) mean i want to be the bestest greatest rapper ever but i also dont want to risk my public image or drop records or help up coming artists i just kinda wanna be the guy, full stop...

I look at it more of a warning than a rule. Truthfully as much stuff that is easily accessible to pull on Drake and him still saying f*** it has me questioning Drake’s decision making throughout his even more

I think people would care more if there were proof. I mean I don’t really like trying to rank what isn’t morally acceptable, but I’d say most people would be more disgusted that someone is a pedo than beating their wife or an absentee father. If Drake had proof, then I think he’d have better footing

i feel like he was building to that, drake literally said my s*** facts what's up with y'all, 5 minutes later top tweets good battle. that is gonna be the weirdest moment ever to me in hip hop battles. Crazy hip hop media acting like no one noticed it either.

Drake should’ve been well aware of all of that when he decided to engage. Everything that he was called out for was already out there, there’s nothing that Kendrick unearthed (aside from the daughter I guess) that Drake’s public lifestyle didn’t put out there already to some degree

i agree another reason i dont get the whole he broke down who drake is omg. he didn't' know drake had a stake partnership for years dont get me wrong if the line works and people believe i get it but kenny just riddled with moments and bars like that throughout but my b not trying to rant at you it would be too much to type to breakdown line for line how dumb what kenny said is enjoy your day im gonna watch this ak stream in shambles.

Drake lost and he quit first lmao idk how people can even argue about it at this point.

Bro literally said "you can drop 100 tracks I'll see ya later" and people really think he's about to continue.

Bro literally said "I don't want to diss you anymore" WORD FOR WORD, and people think he's about to continue.

Bro literally said "Summer Vibes up next" and people STILL THINK HE'S ABOUT TO CONTINUE

It's over lol. Our boy lost and anyone denying it is fanboying. This is basically parallel to what happened to Meek Mill when Drake killed him to be honest lol. The fact that two of Kendrick's diss tracks are outperforming Drake's is just salt in the wound.

-Drake f***ed up with the Push Ups release. Should've been a soundcloud or youtube or even an IG drop.

-Drake f***ed up running his mouth to Ak as much as he did

-Drake f***ed up hyping up, and letting people get on Twitter (and even get on here) and hype up his so called "red button"

-Drake f***ed up when Family Matters got stepped on by meet the grahams and he didn't have another response ready, especially when meet the grahams was far more scathing and brutal than anything Drake did in Family Matters.

And then lets talk about the "red button". Family Matters being his nuke track is crazy when he really didn't say anything crazy about the other guys involved in the beef, and while he exposed Kendrick as an alleged woman beater, he didn't expand on that s*** enough. Falls flat when the opposition drops a diss track with a f***ing concept attached to it

Like wtf? Nigga penned an entire letter to your son saying you aint s***, you're a s*** father with an identity crisis and that he can step in and be your kid's mentor in your place, told your Dad its his fault you're f***ed up like you are, told your mom that you should die, and basically tried to dismantle your character. The level of brutality Kendrick came with is what i expect when niggas are posting nuclear bombs and niggas getting slaughtered to hype up your diss track

    thank you for being objective

the heart part 6 was some of the worst rapping ive ever seen from him lol

"I am a war general, sеasoned in preparation
My jacket is covеred in medals, honor and decoration
You waited for this moment, overcome with the desperation
We plotted for a week, and then we fed you the information"

I fail you see how this is some of his “worst rapping”? I really liked the part you quoted. And before you say I’m biased, I also liked a lot of things that Kendrick said.

However, some of the worst lyricism I’ve ever heard is “OV-ho” and “69 god” lol. That’s some s*** that a local amateur rapper would say. Made me cringe.

one of the worst angles i’ve heard in a diss record

he exposed himself as having zero basis for the s*** he said on the previous records outside of his crackpot Instagram theories

This whole diss was horrible , bro did more damage to himself and his material than he did to his opponent . :drakelaffphone:

Imagine conceding to your enemy and clearing his name on the same song , while also making half of the s*** that you said on your previous songs age like milk and making the allegations that are tarnishing your whole career look a 1000X worse

And let's not even talk about that "Fake mole" operation, bro plotted a smearing campaign against himself 💀💀💀. A week later and everybody still thinks that you may have daughter and that Kendrick camp stole your s*** .

    Like holy s***

that picture is giving me the vibes of those kill bill pics drake was posting on ig near the start of this when the 20v1 narrative was running strong, i don’t think he’s tryna conclude this just yet tbh

Drake lost in all facets. Especially music

Ok, thanks for clearly and coherently defending your opinion. That really changed my mind! You’re totally right, Drake did lose in all facets!

Drake stans had no problem when Meek had the better info but the people didn't care and Drake destroyed him and danced on his grave w B2B. Now its just your papi is on the Meek side and Kendrick and the people are dancing on his grave.

    Awful argument

Using this logic, Drake's claims of Kenny being a wife beater are also irrelevant because other rappers have also been domestic abusers in the past, and therefore that last verse of Family Matters hits the same whether they're directed to Kendrick of Dr Dre lmao

Sure, other rappers have but not 90% of them.

What Kendrick accused drake of on MTG, people have been saying about him for years on end now. That was nothing new, it was just creatively different, as dot was addressing drakes family. Credit where it’s due, that was a nice touch.

Everyone knows drake, The Weeknd, future, and plenty more are guilty of all doing the same thing that Kendrick was talking about (talk about irony) lol.

Kendrick beating his lady was brand new information that we hadn’t heard before. That’s what makes the things drake was saying specifically about Kendrick different than what dot was saying about him.

If everyone in your family steals from Target and YOU’VE been accused for the last 10 years of stealing from Target, if I was to make a diss track about you stealing from Target, everyone would be like… ok? lol
On the other hand, if I was painted out to be the golden boy who wouldn’t stoop to such low behavior and someone accused ME of stealing from Target, it would elicit a much larger reaction because that wasn’t expected.

The logic you’re trying to apply falls apart entirely, when you think critically about it.

We taking hip hop lyric opinions from a dude who didn't know about the biggest thing happening in the genre in 20 years?

The point is, neither you or myself can speak objectively about this. Getting that family friends pov on all of this has been the closest thing to an unbiased opinion I’ve gotten.

If you couldn’t surmise that from my post, then idk what to tell you, unless you’re deliberately being dense.
