Huh?
400ks reasonable enough. I think that’s what FATD did
600ks in outer space unless it’s a classic or unless he plays the Taylor swift / bundle game
Anyway who cares? I hope the musics good
Who is even getting 600k first week without doing bundles and variants.
people are just talking out of their ass when it comes to numbers
They think for some reason UMG won’t want to make their money from this and won’t push his music
When in reality it just won’t be good
they won’t push the button for him like they did for scorpion. the music plays a part but playlist placement and radio are huge as well

He hasn’t dropped singles nearly as undeniable as the scorpion era tho let’s be real

nobody has the fanbase to play the taylor swift game of having your fanbase take out five figure personal loans to buy every version of your album

i agree but they put nice for what in the country playlist on spotify or some s*** like that they were pushing it crazy which i guess was warranted even if i didn’t agree with them turning the scorpion drop into drake day

They also haven’t pushed that button for anyone since scorpion
That album also had the biggest rap battle of the 2010s as promo
That probably won’t get replicated again

It just proves my point that’s it’s less about whether UMG wants to push Drake and more about there being nothing to push

Yeah but nice for what was already huge, the algorithm putting it everywhere makes sense
They will do the same thing if Drake can match that type of hype with a song again
He just hasn’t been able to

It’s probably a combination of things
The music isn’t as good. There isn’t a huge rap battle happening, and the industry seems less interested in making huge albums like that these days.
Also Scorpion was Drakes last album on UMG. It wouldn’t surprise me if they had extra incentives to push it extra hard to encourage Drake to re-sign. Im not sure if those same incentives are in place today
i mean he aint wrong about the sales
I will have a meltdown if Spotify boycotts Drake again by not being the first artist to show up when I type "6god woi oi" in the search bar
We still talking about streams and numbers?
Is the f***ing music good?
It never is. That's why they can only talk about the stream and numbers.
Why would he say this?
https://twitter.com/kurrco/status/1995895807485378820"if i controlled Drake's marketing, he woulda been doing 750k"
They’re just gonna keep doing it because of everything that happened last year. People around him and people that claim to be insiders.
I think the album will be good but people like AK setting him up forreal with all this yall not ready s*** instead of just letting the music do the talking. Drake been entertaining it some too.
Wish Ak and them would shut up.
And stop making it all about sales and having another #1 hit.
Kendrick don’t be doing all this extra s*** and I like that he doesn’t. He just stay humble and focus on the music and care a lot about the culture. All the accolades and s*** that come from it is just icing on the cake.
Niggas gotta humble themselves sometimes.
