I’ve literally never said Drake was my favorite artist.
I said he was my second favorite RAPPER. He’s always been my third favorite artist.

When it comes to a music video, we have to remember that the medium being serviced is the song. The visuals are there to compliment the song, not the other way around, like in a film, where the score/soundtrack is used to compliment the visuals.
I don’t think anyone is saying that, in a vacuum, the NOKIA video is bad. It’s well-shot, well-choreographed, the IMAX use is a creative swing for Drake… it doesn’t look bad on its own.
But between the black and white, lack of energy present in the direction, and overall static & still feeling in the video, it definitely doesn’t service a song as carefree, fun, and energetic as NOKIA
I was wondering why everyone was hating on the video but damn you put it very well
