“The opinions of 5 people who historically have regularly panned music that ends up being hailed in retrospect should be equal to the opinion of the 100s of thousands of people who will ultimately determine a works legacy in the years to come”
Obviously. Sales and show how much the public supports music. Reviews show the quality. They are not mutually exclusive
Yep. People think to be a classic it has to be a 10/10 flawless masterpiece
Its like something like pinata is amazing but no one f***ing knows it
Which doesnt really matter but then people here will act like that will be remembered and take care wont lmao
I’m just glad The project sounds amazing no one cares about meta critic except this site and it’s weird
Streams or sales just tell us what people are invested into or listening to
Critics are just opinions from random bloggers or journalists
Both don’t determine whether an album is a quality project
Idk why people attempt to correlate critics or sales to quality
The truth is both matter to an extent but they don’t tell the entire story. Like if you look at an album like thriller it sold extremely well and the critics ate it up
People mad at music reviewers for reviewing a collection of music released as an album under the guise of a collection of loosies/leaks/demos.
And I'm gonna make this about Kanye too cuz it's a lot of people in here saying who the f*** cares about critics who were laughing their ass off at that JIK score.

Do we expect this guy to go up for songs like D4L
Take Care and IYRTITL are absolutely classics fam
I disagree. I think they are great. Like graduation and Carter iii but not classics. I can’t put them up against any universal classic and those albums win

Lmaoo
Because Drizzy keeps dropped the most mid music labelling it "demos" to excuse it
Can't he just drop something of quality for once
We're getting "playlists", "care packages", "demo tapes" he's running out of adjectives for average music

I enjoy those projects too but that doesn’t make them classics. They are really good drake projects. The standard for classic has to be separate than nostalgia and being great. A classic is a step above that.
No i think that is the perfect definition of classic
A classic is something that defined the era and will be remembered what you say sounds more like masterpiece to me
