Eminem is popular with white audiences in large measure because the African American gangsta rap icon Dr. Dre and other hardcore Black rappers with “street credibility” have conferred on him the mantle of legitimacy. Dre is Eminem’s mentor and producer, signaling to Black audiences as well that unlike Vanilla Ice – a useful object of derision from a decade ago — this white boy is for real.

that prolly helped with marketing 100% but what does it have to do with his come up? maybe i just dont understand what a come up is idk but i feel like theres some miscommunication

This isnt "exposing". Everyone knows the dre cosign did a lot for Eminem's career. Same way Nas got cosigns before Illmatic dropped. That's how hip-hop works.

Who was Drake before wayne? An actor making Joe Budden tier music. Wayne cosigning drake allowed drake to be who drake is. That's called hip-hop

what respect does he deserve lol he's a DJ who makes money grab albums off of forcing a bunch of rappers in the studio to make a song together LMAO

if yall gonna give khaled that level of respect then u gotta give it to someone like travis scott 100 fold

rip to bro but juicewrld always been sorta mid to me

I don't think he got a chance to shine. His label was making him drop mid pop music but he was a really skilled technical rapper. Probably more than lil baby. Nobody was freestyling like juice wrld
