How would you describe the general gameplay flow this s*** feels so alien to me. Having fun exploring this first outside area but just keep getting killed and not sure exactly what I'm supposed to do.

Why is fromsoft the only one without a photomode

these games are always interesting because there is a STEEP learning curve at the beginning but it flattens out for most people with time

do you have a horse yet? if not you’re gonna want to keep finding those little sites of grace and resting at them until you get a cutscene to unlock it. after that definitely just take time to explore and level up, the world design is very similar to botw in the sense that it naturally leads you to finding new areas and events if you just take the time and scope your surroundings

if you find yourself just getting COMPLETELY destroyed and doing very little damage to enemies it’s a good sign you’re in an area you probably shouldn’t be in. otherwise start thinking of what sort of build you want (your starting class gives you a good direction to head in based on what stats to level up), if this is your first time then the easiest build would probably be sword and shield, but keep experimenting with new weapons you find and don’t be afraid to restart with a new class/character if you’re not feeling your current one

Man wtf is up with Margit man. Every single attack is delayed which is stupid af and then be hits you with an undodgeable and unblockable dagger.

Its definitely dodgeable

I mean it's dodgeable but it always comes in at a point in the combo where if you dodge through the previous attack, it hits you just as you're getting out of the dodge.

Just got a fireball spell so might hit him from range a bit

Exploring pennisula made me figure out all the little symbols n drawings on the map.

Most of them arent for show, theyre physical things with stuff minus a few exception. Like i went to a random circle n its a tower that gave me the Hand Ballista weapon.

Went to a black square n its a church with a tear drop.

Little trees n shapes its a village with a spell.

Etc.

So much more is out there.

Play it like Breath of the Wild. Just keep exploring further and further.
