Killed 4 mini bosses tonight
Deciding on if I should cop this. Never played any dark souls or blood borne. I like rpg games like the Witcher, oblivion, Skyrim, fable, etc. any advice on if I should cop this or not?
This me now btw finally changed out my starting armor gear aside from my helmet a day or two ago, still havent found a good one of those:
Nothing super special but i always like the ruined armor look n i think it always fits with the game shout out Fallen Knight set from Ds3 my baby
Set is Exile except gloves n helmet, which are Travelers Gloves n Champion Headband. I have the whole set tho.
Dragon Halberd, Regalia of Eochalid, Battle Hammer n Lordsworn Greatsword are the main weapons I use n im faith, str main dex 2nd.
ah thanks for the vid, didn’t know there were guides on this s*** already, I’m gonna try exploring the map as fully as I can then I’ll check if I missed anything

the game is amazing. my first souls game as well. highly addictive and challenging

what do you mean softcap? the way sorcery scaling works on staff is based on INT, it doesn’t matter if you go to 99, every level is increasing your damage output
also gotta be honest I’m regretting putting points into health because late game everything just one shots you no matter the size of my health bar, I think int and dex are the only good skills for a sorcerer, with some mind but not a lot is needed
Just got to the area where the sky goes from yellow to red. These new enemies got me s***ting bricks creepy ass mfers

It's not really like any of the games you mentioned other than being a fantasy open world. There's not much to compare it to if you've never played a From game tbh.
The difficulty of these games is greatly overstated imo. All that's needed to beat them is basic pattern recognition skills and patience. If you are up for a challenge and willing to spend the time to learn and understand the gameplay mechanics and the flow of combat, I'd say go for it. You're probably gonna die a lot but that's all part of learning the game and testing your limits.

Thanks for the advice. Is this game as good as everyone is saying it is? Do you think it’d be a good introductory into something like this?

Thanks fam. If you don’t mind me asking what type of other games do you play? Just want to know for a comparison.

for example, i played and loved: skyrim, witcher 3, cyberpunk, red dead II, uncharted, breath of the wild, super mario odyssey, etc. and when i want some competition i play some fifa haha

If its like the other games softcap is 25 - 30
50 is hard cap
99 is max

meaning, should i stop upgrading intelligence because the returns are just not worth it (for now ofc) and starting upgrading things like dex or endurance

The caps just mean you dont gain as much as before
For example in at least the others soft cap is 25/30, i think bb is the one thats diff iirc
Anyway, then hard is 50
Max is 99
Soft you dont gain as much but still gain points every level up, hard cap iirc stays the same, but, you dont gain a point until every two or three levels
Then of course max you dont gain at all
People usually get their main skill to hard cap, 2nd to soft, health to soft n stam 5 levels before soft
I just dont know if its the same or near same in Elden Ring
The malenia fight is so good
yea this fight is dumb hard
finally a difficult boss fight. none of the fights have been inherently difficult, so i'm very glad to finally get my ass beat over and over

Sealed the deal. Thanks fam. Can’t wait to get started once it’s finished downloading. Any advice or pointers on getting started? What starting class did you choose?!
is 57 a good level to go for godfrey?
Yeah i was way below that still am
Im 51, was 42 when i beat him 5th try
Blocking with a 100phys shield helps a lot, n using a spirit on his 2nd phase to absord n distract some damage for a bit

It's definitely as great as all the reviews say it is. I'd say it's a good intro to this type of game. Since it's open world and there's no level scaling, if you're struggling you can go do other things and come back to a boss once you're significantly stronger. The other From games definitely set you more on a refined path which could make the game harder if you're having trouble.
