JUST F***ING CLAPPED HER WITHOUT HEALING HOLY S***
Some first impressions of Elden Ring by me who's never played a Dark Souls-type game before:
I've been playing for maybe 5 hours in total and it's more because I'm trying to give it a shot, but so far I don't find it particularly fun. Not a big deal though, I bought the game with the intention of trying something new and seeing if I like it. I've given a lot of new games a shot over the past few years since the Switch launched. Some I ended up loving, some I played once and then trashed. Lots of people were talking about Elden Ring online so I got curious and was bored so I pulled the trigger. Perhaps I will get into it more, but right now it's just me wandering aimlessly picking fights, hoping to see something cool and praying that whoever I'm picking a fight with isn't a mad man who's going to make me die over and over again.
your build is slow and clunky not the combat
Yeah they’re after the capital. The blood river is before the capital though 👀
oh okay bet, i was scared i was at the end but i know who the final boss is now

I'm a level 9 or 10 Vagabond. Any tips?

Make sure your equipment load says medium or light. Heavy load makes your dodge rolls slower (called a fat roll) and is really crippling. Vagabond starts off fat rolling cause they have 2 weapons and heavy armor equipped.
The only difference is you never scale well in the mountaintop of giants.. I was level 150 going through there and everything was 2 shotting me and taking no damage lol
But that just means you probably wasn't scaled well there. A level doesn't mean anything in souls games. You could be 150 and still be killed by mobs in older dungeons. It's all about armor sets and weapons stats.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into that. Didn't know my equipment could impact the slowness/clunkiness.

The blasphemous blade skill OP as s*** it would knock her down every time if she wasn’t in an attack that gave her infinite poise

Post stats. I was using that sword mainly before I respec'd. Didn't think about spamming the Ash though

Armor has literally not mattered at all since DS1 and barely DS3.. I promise you right now I was blasting through the entire game no problem until I hit that area. It’s severely unbalanced regardless of what you think about “not scaling well”. Just do a quick google search of “Elden Ring late game” and you will see hundreds of posts on every forum talking about the issues of the late game areas, it’s not a “scaling” issue, it’s a the QAs didn’t give a s*** when they were testing Moutaintop and Farum and just said it’s fine issue lmao
You’re not supposed to get wopped by mobs/bosses or enemies in general in 2 hits with almost 2000 HP..
You shouldn’t be absolutely destroying everything in the entire game and then cone to an almost complete standstill and barely do damage to enemies in another area just because it’s “late game”. I platinumed the game, it’s easily the best game I’ve ever played but i’m not gonna act like the ridiculous balancing is a “not scaling well” problem when this kind of stuff never existed in the other games.

Yeah some people are replying like here with the "get gud" reflections lol.
Reminds me some of the discussion for DS1 when there a legitimate hitbox criticisms for that game.
F***ers can do a back attack from the side or front sometimes lol

Read the comments on this one, it’s actually full of level headed people who aren’t looking to just circle jerk FromSoft. The game needs balancing patches for sure

nah man, just git gud
it's such an easy cop-out answer for the elitist/circlejerk of fromsoft games. for these games in particular, it's hard to give levelheaded/reasonable criticisms because you're just gonna be met by some bozos who will tell you to git gud
i lost a lot of steam i had going for this game the second i got to mountaintop of the giants. obv my experience isn't universal (or really not that common, from what i'm seeing).
