Was miquella's plan always getting to the shadow realm?
He got here by stripping himself of his flesh, his lineage, his strength, of all that is Golden, and you can argue thats how we see him in the base game. WHAT IS IN THERE? WHY WAS MARIKA THERE FIRST? I believe Marika banished her son messmer there cause he held the power of flames, and we know flames are no good in her Golden order, but how did It happen
Man some of those sceneries looked even more like moving playable paintings than the already mesmerizing base game did. The art direction team in from soft is the best in the industry bar none, they keep one upping themselves
Also miquella at the end was clearly an adult were fighting Griffith boys
Im a Miquella believer we not fighting him he our next Ranni
Ending scene definitely got him lifting the shadow around the erdtree

I may throw her and melina in the garbage if miquella's the new waifu companion
Miyazaki also said that this isnt new lore its just what they couldnt fit into the main game
That makes it interesting as to why Messmer was never mentioned
especially with Miquella being so prominent.
Then he has something similar to the fire giants flame. The trailer talks about losing side. Marika fought the giants early on. This guys a traitor
June gives me time to start a new character and maybe beat it… I’ll start my new character after my vacation I think

Nah they just need to keep building on this engine. Keep intelligently reusing assets and building on the foundation.
That’s the only way we aren’t seeing something like a 2032 release date for the next souls like from From

Personally i’d like to see them spruce it up a little for their next game (hopefully they can get close to what Bluepoint did with Demon’s Souls) But ER isn’t a bad looking game at all, solid art direction can take visuals a long way.
Started my new character, Margit's still whooping me but I've gotten him to phase 2 every time
Gonna sweep him and probably the whole first dungeon tomorrow

I'd take Elden Ring graphics over Demon Souls remake. I'll take the hit in visual crispness for the edge in art style.

100%. Bluepoint makes pretty graphics but their art direction is total ass
What they did to Wander in SotC

This place keeps sounding more and more like elden ring's painted world of ariamis. A place where all the things the royals dont want in their kingdom are banished. There's messmer of course, being the unwanted child mentioned by a ghost in one of the churches in weeping peninsula (there's a catacomb close by called the impaler's catacombs too thats crazy), there's tons of omens, weird abominations, and miyazaki said in an interview that most of the creatures in this DLC are somehow connected.
I saw in other places someone mention how this realm has a sort of veil of maya above it, which indicates its being hidden, presumably by Marika. Miyazaki also likes to retread symbolism and narrative devices in his work, so it would track.
Miquella abandoning the Haligtree, Malenia and his people to go on a seperate journey seems very similar to Ranni abandoning Blaidd and Iji
