yeah its a weird dynamic of only having the big disagreements on things because we are generally in similar ballpark in the first place

like we'll both agree overall on an artist but disagree completely on what their best stuff is. or have a few puzzling examples of goats that the other one cant get into at all

    thought you'd agree

Beach Boys harmonies and Pixies distortion

Yeah I was gonna say it’s sort of weird how much hate they still get when this is essentially their formula. It’s kind of a perfect combo.

Elric will hate this but Teenage Fanclub and Fountains of Wayne are also two of my favorite 90’s bands. But then again…I’m the power pop guy in here.

You're only the power pop guy in here because I don't post quite as much

70s power pop like Big Star, Raspberries, Shoes, Cheap Trick is probably my favorite style of music on a track by track basis

You're kind of a wild card tbf it's hard to pinpoint your taste. I wouldn't associate you with Radiohead though.

I love when they went electronic more than anything before it. But my taste has always been eclectic. I used to piss my family off playing country and rock growing up.

It’s like getting drunk vs getting high
Minor Threat is like a bar fight, Fugazi is like waiting for the ambulance after

I like Lemon Twigs a lot, I got on board with them pretty early but for whatever reason they never became a favorite. They make me want to listen to other bands I love lol

That normally happens to me with pastiche artists, but I think they perfectly nail the work they’re drawing from and then intensify it until it takes on a quality all its own. They have a really high consistency too. It’s not a case of digging for gems.
