I saw a video of young Japanese people on the streets being asked about WW2 and it was clear most of them had just a vague idea of what their country actually did. They kind of just.. swept that period of time under the rug.

I was listening to The Stills album from 2008 and man is that the most generic s***. Their 2003 record is really cool. It’s like Interpol with New Order level melodies, but the 2008 one softens the sound overall and just ends up coming off like any other random pop rock band. I’m baffled Pitchfork gave it a slightly higher rating.
