Yea it was Mechanical Animals that was heavily influenced by Bowie and actually had Corgan involved at some point too

A hangout with Trent, Manson, and Corgan could either be the most cringe or awesome time ever

They all f***ed Courtney Love too

    ahh yeah I suppose haha.

the poem is called The Second Coming. the first part (through metaphor) describes the moral and spiritual bankrupcy of Europe after the first world war. So Yeats first imagines that salvation is imminent drawing on the second coming of Christ... then (cynically) reveals the second coming to actually be this sphinx motherfucker that wakes up and "slouches towards bethlehem to be born", " which is basically saying something even worse is about to happen (The Second Coming) At least that's how I interpret it. This is the tradition of a lot of modernist poetry from that era.

I really like both versions of all along the watchtower but have never looked into the meanings.

yeah I read about, pretty interesting and spooky. almost feel like Dylan was trying to do a Yeats on Watchtower now that ive read that.

It’s crazy how drastically different the 90’s Alternate scene felt after Kurt died. Like you couldn’t imagine him making that type of music. I think he would have went an Eliot Smith Lofi folk direction

I think he even said he wanted to go in a total acoustic Johnny Cash type style. Would've been awesome.

Yeah Yo La Tengo is one of my favorite bands. They were def an influence on SSM with the mix of tender and noisy stuff. You would probably dig their 90s albums
