Jul 28, 2024Fella@Elric I wish I found this when you were doing 71. The album as a whole is one of my favorite discoveries in a while. It’s early 70’s folk rock desperately clinging to the sounds and sentiments of the 60’s. There’s a melancholy that comes with that. At times it sounds like if Ringo joined The Kinks or something.

Classic noir is like golden age slashers, 80s teen comedies, and mid 80s-mid 90s action movies. Even the “bad” ones are still cozy comfort food for me.

Im no expert but I really never heard of a "bad" movie from that golden era. It probably was so much harder to make a film that everyone involved couldn't risk a flop

The men's mountain biking was crazy earlier as well, British guy got a puncture then came back to win right at the death.
We keep getting beat by 0.02 seconds in the swimming though

Kinda. Plenty of those movies had bad acting and/or writing, but they were almost always well made on a technical level.

That's mainly westerns for me. And basically any genre black and white movie from the 50s (maybe cause og Day The Earth Stood Still was the moment I was first captivated by some dust).

Yeah I was watching some judo the other day, it kinda f***ing sucks lol
same thing with jiu jitsu. seems like a sport that means a lot for people who practice it, but yeah it's really not that exciting to watch two people roll around on the ground for 25 minutes. sorry @Elric
