not really sure the whole story but someone rediscovered this entirely lost japanese band from 90s a month ago and posted their albums on youtube.makes me wonder how much music out there that just gets completely lost to the obscurity of time

But damn you been on a serious XTC kick haha. Even the stuff that's adjacent to them & Andy Partridge (Dukes and Cleaners).
I still havent heard either Apple Venus album either cause they aren't on apple music. I have no idea why in 2024 thats still a thing. AM has multiple remastered versions of their albums but for some reason there are a few albums that just aren't available. I have so many artists in my apple music library that have a similar issue. Very annoying
I don’t use Last fm either. I use Apple Music. The app converts what you listen to on any streaming service over to it. Also you can buy both Apple Venus volumes on the iTunes Store. That’s what I did. I prefer the 2nd one.

Every time I peek into Life section I remember just how melodramatic this site can be. They’re talking about Twitter like it’s a Nazi recruitment app. Feel like I’m looking into a time machine back to 2017. I question why I’m still on here and it’s like “oh yeah, everyone in Fam thread rules.”

Venus 1 is their best album imo
Kinda crazy to me. It’s good, but feels more like a solo project. A lot of the tracks are just these airy reverb heavy pieces that lack a lot of the bands identity and aren’t nearly as emotionally cathartic enough to make up for that. So much of it feels like building up with little release.
My favorites are Nonsuch and Drums & Wires.

He sucks, but there was just as much disinformation being promoted on the platform when the other evil billionaires owned it.

Misinformation is spewed on every social media, if you think its bad now try before Musk bought it. I don't even remember community notes back then

there were only a couple for that one. ive got 5 for it
whereas the Charli album ive got like 60. ~20 for Crash
~30 for Pop 2
only 1 for N1A
~80 for the whole XCX World/Vroom Vroom era
~50 for Sucker
~40 for True Romance/pre-True Romanceonly sought out the ones that are fully completed (or close enough), good quality, and not just any rough demos of other songs or mumble tracks
combed through almost 17 hours of songs total. made a best-of which is 1.7 hours and another playlist like 6 hours long of the very good ones worth hearing
