For a second I thought you were asking me to rate the film in Roman numerals. Now that I think about it I saw most of his films when I was young and some of them like The Pianist I genuinely have no memory of whatsoever. Honestly the last time I saw Chinatown was like 2 years ago and I don't really even remember it that well or what happened I think it involved incest or something?

think my days of heavy drinking have fried my brain but I got RB at the top ofc and I also actually really like his Macbeth. Speaking of Macbeth the 1948 Olivier's Hamlet is pretty fire. That opening scene

It's really dark watching it knowing everything that transpired right before. Apparently he wanted to film the most nihilistic/violent version of the play based on his wife/son's murder. Also Pauline Kael saying the extreme violence was "Polanski’s way of exorcising his wife’s murder." is a wild thing to write.

I remember reading recently that Tolkien never liked Macbeth because he thought the moving of the Birnam wood was "prosaic" for not being supernatural enough or something like that. That part always creeped me out as a kid tho.

Yeah but I just realized I missed that second, more folksy album he came out with in 2022 so I had to listen to that first and it was definitely hitting harder. New one has more of that same kinda annoying tinny guitar squall sound. I have no idea what happened to the tone of his guitar for the first decade of his career but I miss how potent it was. Had a much more robust bottom.

Heisei Gamera was already very good but Revenge Of Iris is even by far the best film out of the three (imo better than GMK). Effects work is marvellous and the film is somewhat more grey in it's morals + the story overall is good.

The SNL movie trailer is the best trailer I've seen in a while. Got me properly hyped. Cooper Hoffman is a legit good actor and so is the fabrelmans kid.

They played Cheryl tines got to be real at the club other night. How'd I miss this one. God tier song.
