Hard disagree Twilight Princess was just as big as WW its just the wiiu and its releases killed all of Nintendo’s hype atp.
Twilight Princess was GameCube/Wii and it was good but didn't have the magic spark of the preceding 4 games. That and Skyward Swordn felt too laborious.
@Aruji what is the minimum for directors. I made a rough draft and only got 10
Which ten?

I was a massive connoisseur of many Wii titles, had a Wii U and was a huge TP fan, but Skyward Sword looked like absolute ass just from trailers so I chose not to buy it
Yacht rock documentary on Max is fun but it's talking about s*** like toto and Fleetwood Mac and boz scaggz I don't really see these artists as yacht rock. Yacht rock is mcdonald Loggins and cross. The big 3.

Yeah it was cool in concept and design but execution was not great. Alot of repetitive sequences and gameplay that was more half ass Metroid than Zelda.

Steeley Dan are who I think of when i hear the term yacht rock

I think i like it more than you. Done really cool dungeons throughout and some great bosses but I agree with the relative repetitiveness throughout

always thought they were truly yacht only from Aja onwards
the stuff before just their hard to categorize signature mix of jazz rock and pop rock
way more seedy urban vibes than laidback california style ones. plus the folk songwriting and straight up energetic jazz soloing

its one of the nerdiest peeves to have but it does irk me when people woefully miscategorize subgenres or sub-subgenres

They got all the big (alive) names for the doc except Don f**en and at the end there's a recording of the director calling him and asking him to be interviewed for a documentary on yacht rock and F**en tells him to go f*** himself and hangs up

I thought you didn't play it? Or you talking TP again

TP woops, thought we were still discussing that one

I liked the character designs and architecture, the gothic dreamlike vibe and vast expanses but it never really clicked as another classic for me.

Water Temple confused tf outta me ngl, and apparently the Ocarina Water Temple is 5x worse
new Eggers film getting pretty great reviews. If Nosferatu somehow turns out to be a masterpiece does Eggers get a place on the directors list

I don't remember TP's water temple tbh but yeah Ocarina's was brutal the first couple times
once guy know the tricky spot it's cool though. Crazy you haven't played Ocarina. The most perfect game oat.

Never had a 64 growing up (has a ps1 and grew up with Spyro and Crash). I know MM and OoT are both on the switch and I can access them but I gotta have the passion and desire to wanna play them

He was already on mine lol I can't tell you how much VVitch and Lighthouse cater to my exact sensibilities. I think Eggers probably has the exact same Dreyer/Murnau/Bergman/Tark type of list I do.

Just imagine the sense of awe and wonder you feel exploring BOTW and try to imagine being like 12 and that feeling times 1000 because the last Zelda was 2D and you were exploring wide open 3D fields for the first time in (console at least) gaming.
I don't think the series ever topped those cutscenes for their sheer stately grandeur and borderline spiritual vibe either;

Also one of the biggest and best twists in gaming
@drjdeponytail @Koala yall f*** with Whiskey Myers?
Went to fish with my dad for his bday back in Sept and he was blasting this classic song on the boat
