the nostalgia I have for it is nearly unparalleled. especially after losing my pops who was obsessed with it.

peak movie nostalgia for me is the og Star Wars trilogy, og Dune, og Mad Max, 40's-70's Disney, and those 80s fantasy bangers like Princess Bride/Labrynth/Willow/Neverending Story

also maybe Coppolas Dracula which I sneak watched when I was way too young. and The Lost Boys.

also First Nations classics Powwow Highway and Smoke Signals. you should check these out, prairie boy @Galaxy

drunk group watch of this movie Funky Forest was an all timer

clearly created by a fan of Eraserhead and Cronenberg

    my craziest group watches over the years;

Viy - from '67 is an insane Russian fantasy/comedy/horror

Thin Red Line - im not a big war film guy either but this is staggeringly beautiful and horrifying to experience with friends

Wild At Heart - Lynch as his most entertainingly batshit crazy

Inherent Vice with a big group in theatre was amazing. not sure if anybody else was cracking up as much as us but we had a time.

Neon Demon in an indie theatre where everybody was drunk and or high was insane

Sherlock Jr is the most relentlessly charming, exciting and fascinating 45 minutes in history

Kiss Me Deadly has dialogue and segments crazy enough to anybody pause to this day

Night of The Hunter of course

Throne Of Blood over the top comically intense samurai characters are priceless. I would rec this as your first 1950s Japanese film if you havent seen any yet. their golden era.

    Onibaba and Kuroneko similar territory

Turkish delight my kind of perky eurotrash (same director of your precious Total Recall)

Suspiria quite the fkn horror show that you need to see to believe how crazy that Goblin score is

Black Cat White Cat, Speed Racer etc I could keep going

maybe ill just do that one next or soon instead for Lynch

i dont really have any to rec you guys in general unless you are down for 3hr indian movie RRR that I gave elric

Gangs of Wasseypur is another cool one, like an Indian attempt at a godfathr type movie but that ones split into 2 parts for a total of 5+ hours so cant really give it out as a rec

One of my students told me today that they couldn't wait for January because they were fiending for my band's next single after listening to the others over and over and they weren't buttering me up or anything, it was just random and totally genuine

    Really made my day
