Thanks, we've been talking quite a bit but I'm going to stop messaging her for a bit just to give her some space. She sent this today. I thought I'd share it since it's basically addressed to people in the thread who were friends with him which was most of the core members. I feel like people itt have become closer over the last couple years and of course I wish atl was still here during that time. But like I told her, some burdens are too heavy for this world. And like she told me - one can find solace in that he isn't suffering anymore. Depression and anxiety will absolutely level you and no one should have to endure that.

one of my favorite video essays ever is about this film (solaris) It's by Kogonada (who directed Columbus/After Yang/Pachinko). This was back when he used to make video essays before he became a successful director. (taken off youtube)

Lost one of the best friends I ever had a decade ago to a very violent suicide. He could put on a good front but the weight of whatever he was carrying was always bubbling just under the surface. Really hard to picture him ever finding peace in this life without committing to therapy and he was the last person that was ever going to do that.

I'll look out for the other 2 but it appears Miracle in Milan is on the Crit channel so I'll add it to my list. Mostly just been watching films on there or Prime since they've got lots of popular stuff

Aruji recommended Milan to me and it was one of the best recs I ever got.
