I mean it's a good album but it's nowhere near the first 3

i still like it a little but just feel like leaning more hard rock doesnt play to their strengths as much

im a fan of things that are much more pop metal than that but I dont think their rhythm section has enough groove or meat to it. the riffs and songwriting definitely not bad but again just doesnt work as well when everything is dragged down to that pace. I'd say Hetfield vocals are one strong point of them slowing to that pace though tbh. production quality also incredible

tbf Ride The Lightning is definitely better and the black album might be the weakest out of the five but it's waay overhated and not that far off
